The fire is being managed by a Type III team.

Hand crews continue to establish line on steep and rocky terrain and to secure and improve fire lines. The fire is burning through dry brush, grass and timber and the area is experiencing isolated, dry thunderstorms. Fire managers continue to monitor structures in the immediate vicinity and are continuing to protect the utility corridor. The fire transitioned to a Type III team today.

As of 4:30 p.m. July 15, 2020 the Veyo West Fire, is at 2618 acres burned after an Infrared flight mapped the fire perimeter. Crews managed to hold the perimeter during the winds in the afternoon and improve containment lines. The fire is currently 20 percent contained.

As of 4:30 p.m., the Veyo West Fire, estimated at 2900 acres and zero-percent contained, forced the evacuation of the west side of the Veyo, Utah, and burned one primary structure (home) and one outbuilding. Closures include secondary roads west of Highway 18, and north of Veyo. The fire is burning through dry brush and grass.
