This will further secure the fire line and keep the fire within its existing footprint. The fire will likely continue its minimal, creeping behavior within the fire perimeter.

Powell Ranger District fire managers will continue to assess the Left Fork Fire while getting additional resources in place to engage the fire during today’s operational period. A Type 1 Helicopter is expected to arrive on scene this morning and begin firefighting operations. The fire is estimated at 100 acres burning in timber, litter, understory and logging debris. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
