Location: Thompson Hollow, 11 miles southeast of Beaver. Utah
GPS Coordinates: N 38° 09.31 W -112° 28.71
Jurisdiction: Fishlake National Forest
Fire Size: 1,100 acres
Cause: Lightning
Fire Behavior: Group torching with short range spotting
Closures: Forest Trail 068 (PST 068)
Structures: No structures threatened
Percent Contained: 0%
Fuels: Heavy dead and down timber, mixed conifer
Fire Crews/Resources: 2-Type 6 Engine, 1 Water Tender, 1 Wildland Fire Module (WFM), 2-
Type 3 Helicopter w/crew, 1 Dozer
Evacuations: None
Summary: Fire managers are focused on a confine and contain strategy using natural features
and tactics that will provide the greatest chance for suppression success. A type 3 incident
management team has been ordered.
