Dalton Wash Fire – 6/12/2022
Firefighters on the Dalton Wash fire will continue patrolling and monitoring containment lines ensuring all pockets of heat near the fires edge have been extinguished. The number of fire resources will decrease over the next 24 hours as they complete suppression efforts.
Containment lines have been improved and fire managers feel confident in the current condition of the fire’s perimeter. Color Country Incident IMT 2 will be transitioning management of the fire to the Bureau of Land Management’s Color Country-Paria River Fire and Aviation Management Unit. Several crews will be released so they can either return home or be assigned to other fires.
Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect and fire danger remains very high across southern Utah, recreators are urged to use extreme caution as they recreate on state and public lands.
