Current Situation: The Color Country Interagency Fire partners and respective agencies are actively working to gain control and increase containment of the fire. Ground resources are flanking all sides of the fire in areas where the fire’s edge is reachable. The incident is burning in a combination of roadside fuels and rough, inaccessible terrain. The landscape is a combination of dry brush and grass, pinyon juniper, and rocky cliffsides, to name a few. Multiple aerial resources will be working the fire throughout today. With warm weather increasing into the weekend, the fire weather potential will be challenging over the next few operational shifts. A Type 3 Incident Management Team has been requested and will take over command of the fire this evening.

Evacuations: Evacuations were in place last night at a nearby “tiny homes” site. The occupancy of the site is currently unavailable. Additional information to come.
