Left Fork Fire – Fire Update 5/10/2022 – 6 p.m.
The Left Fork Fire is burning mixed conifers as wildland fire crews continue to build line around the fire’s perimeter. Aviation resources were able to drop retardant and water on hotspots during the morning and early afternoon hours despite the high winds. Wildland fire managers are watching the weather closely to ensure firefighter safety.
Wildland Fire Managers conducted a prescribed fire to remove logging slash piles on April 7, 2022, near the origin of the Left Fork Fire. Wildland Fire Investigators have determined that the Left Fork fire was caused by remnant heat from this prescribed fire.
Fire managers are requesting the public’s assistance by avoiding the area to allow fire resources to access the fire.
