Weber Basin Job Corps Firefighting at the Bennion Creek Fire

The Weber Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center (CCC) from Ogden, Utah is currently assigned to the Bennion Creek Fire on the Manti-La Sal National Forest. The Job Corps CCC is an education and job training program and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) operates 24 Job Corps Centers across the nation. Every USFS Job Corps center has a wildland fire training program in which students can participate to learn additional work skills. The fire crew leadership is comprised of USFS employees to help identify learning opportunities for the students. The student firefighters are hired by the USFS as emergency firefighters to respond to wildland fires where and when needed.
