CURRENT SITUATION: The Bennion Fire was reported June 4, 2021. It is currently burning through steep, rugged, rocky terrain. That terrain, coupled with current red flag conditions, is making containment efforts challenging. A Type-3 team is expected to take control of the fire on Monday. Smoke is visible in the surrounding communities and from Highway 6. For public & firefighter safety please avoid the fire area.

FIRE BEHAVIOR/FUELS: The fire is burning in sage, mountain mahogany and pinyon juniper, being pushed by high winds and extremely dry conditions.
