Planned Date: Beginning Tuesday, April 13, 2021
Location: 4 miles west of Koosharem, Utah, near Milo’s Kitchen Trailhead and along Forest Road 068 (also known as the Red Road), between Milo’s Kitchen and Koosharem Clay Mine.
Legal Description: Milo’s Kitchen: Township 26 South, Range 1 West, Section 19. Red Road: Township 26 South, Range 1 West, Sections 24-25 & 35-36; and Township 27 South, Range 1 West, Section 2.
Lat/Long: Milo’s Kitchen: 38o 32’ 01.11” North, 111o 57’ 10.65” West; Red Road: 38o 28.61” North, 111o 58’ 16.30” West.
Planned Actions: The U.S. Forest Service – Fishlake National Forest, plans to burn approximately 200 – 300 acres of activity fuels (slash), created by hand thinning efforts. District personnel will target the thicker pockets of slash and leave the thinner areas unburned. Smoke visibility on the South Monroe Slash Prescribed Burn Project is expected to be short-term.
