Fillmore Ranger District Plans Fuel Project Near Joseph, Utah
The Fishlake National Forest, Fillmore Ranger District and Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will collaborate to implement the work for The Joseph Wildlife Habitat Improvement Shared Stewardship Hand Thin & Lop and Scatter Fuels Project. This project is located west of Interstate 70, directly west and southwest of the rural community of Joseph, Utah, in Sevier County. Implementation of the project begins November 6th, 2020 and will continue through April 1st, 2021.
This project is located within The Pahvant Mountain Range on National Forest Lands administered by the Fillmore Ranger District, Fishlake National Forest and is approximately 6622 acres of conifer and pinyon-juniper. The planned treatment actions will include hand cutting conifers with handsaws/chainsaws and lopping with pruning shears.
