Location: Foothills near Springville, Utah, close to 2400 North

Today, November 2nd, resources will return and engage in direct suppression tactics where it is safe and feasible. The challenge for the firefighters is the steep terrain with the potential for rocks/boulders rolling down towards them. A fire investigator will also be working on determining the cause of the fire.
Unfortunately, fire season is not over. Extended drought has made the vegetation extremely dry and is very susceptible to any spark. Even with cooler temperatures that may moderate fire behavior during the evening hours, the fire season will not be over until the area receives a “season ending event”. This event typically includes a substantial rain event across a two or three-day period. Fire management officials ask that everyone take the Utah’s Wildfire Prevention Pledge, find more information at https://SparkChange.utah.gov
