Veyo Road Fire Update – Sept. 28, 2020

Summary: The Veyo Road Fire, previously named the Veyo Pool Fire, grew quickly yesterday evening primarily driven by strong winds through dry grass, brush and juniper. The Veyo Pool has not been impacted by the fire and remains open. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for gusty winds and low humidity over the fire area throughout the day. Today crews will secure and mop up the west flank of the fire. As hand crews arrive, they will be placed on the south end of the fire where there is no vehicle access. Engines will patrol and mop up along dozer lines and State Route 18.
