Summary: The Cowboy Fire is located approximately 15 miles east of Salina, Utah in the Cowboy Drainage area. The fire was reported on the morning of 8/16/2020. The fire is burning in rough terrain limiting firefighter access. Yesterday, air resources and ground crews continued working to establish containment lines. Smoke is visible from Interstate 70 & surrounding areas. For public & firefighter safety please avoid the fire area.
Location: 15 miles East of Salina, Sevier County, Utah
Jurisdiction: U.S. Forest Service
Fire Behavior: Fire behavior has been minimal with smoldering, creeping and single tree torching today.
