Summary: The Cowboy Fire is located approximately 15 miles east of Salina, Utah in the Cowboy Drainage area. The fire was reported on the morning of 8/16/2020. The fire is burning in rough terrain limiting firefighter access. Today, crews including air resources will be working to establish containment lines. Smoke is visible from Interstate 70 & surrounding areas. For public & firefighter safety please avoid the fire area.

Fire Behavior: Yesterday, fire was actively moving south with single-tree and group torching. Fire behavior has been minimal with some smoldering and creeping today.
