Richard Mountain Fire Update 8/8/2020

Summary: The fire experienced no perimeter growth today, but did have some interior single tree torching. Crews and resources were able to gain 90% containment of the perimeter. Red flag warnings are in effect the next two days.

Location and Jurisdiction: 50 miles south of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bureau of Land Management Wyoming and Utah
Cause: Under investigation
Fire Size: 7,632 acres
Complexity: Type 3 Incident Command
Percent Contained: 90%
Fire Behavior: Minimal; single tree torching
Structures Threatened: Oil and gas resources in Utah
Fuels and Terrain: The fire is burning through pinyon pine, juniper, grass and brush in steep terrain.
Fire Crews/Resources: 10 engines, 1 watertender, 2 (20 person) crews, and 1 dozer. 142 personnel total.
Evacuations and Closures: Clay Basin Road remains closed at Hwy 191. Closures for Section B of the Green River in Utah have been lifted. Browns Park Road closure has been lifted.
