The Upper Provo Fire remains active, with the most active spot just west of Pyramid Lake. Crews are working hard to keep the fire from spotting over the lake. The terrain in that area is very rugged, which affects firefighting tactics. Hand crews are directing helicopter bucket drops to help extinguish torching trees and other active fire spots.

Yesterday, a local fire prevention patrol unit responded to another escaped campfire that burned a 10’x10’ area outside the fire ring. This is the third escaped campfire found near the Upper Provo Fire.
