Summary: The fire experienced minimal perimeter growth today. Some interior burning. Crews and resources were able to gain 40% containment of the perimeter.

Start Date: August 3, 2020
Location and Jurisdiction: 50 miles south of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Bureau of Land Management Wyoming and Utah
Cause: Under investigation
Fire Size: 7,633 acres; increase in acreage due to more accurate mapping
Complexity: Type 3 Incident Command
Percent Contained: 40%
Fire Behavior: Minimal; creeping, smoldering, backing, single tree torching
Structures Threatened: Oil and gas resources in Utah
Fuels and Terrain: The fire is burning through pinyon pine, juniper, grass and brush in steep terrain.
Fire Crews/Resources: 14 engines, 2 watertender, 5 (20 person) crews, 1 dozer and 3 helicopters. 227 personnel total.
Evacuations and Closures: Closures for Section B of the Green River in Utah have been lifted. Browns Park Road closure has been lifted. Clay Basin Road remains closed at Hwy 191.
