Summary: Yesterday, firefighters secured 15% containment and there was no new growth. Crews will focus on reinforcing containment lines and identifying and extinguishing sources of heat within the fire perimeter today. Fire investigators are asking anyone who saw a large dump truck, dark brown in color dragging chains traveling up I-80 in Parleys on Thursday August 6th around 6 pm to make contact at (801) 538-5418.

Evacuations: Mandatory evacuations in effect for the community of Mt. Aire
Closures: Mt. Aire and I-80 exit 132 and 134 off-ramps. I-80 may close if fire activity increases and air support is needed. Little Dell Reservoir will remain closed Saturday and Sunday August 8th & 9th for helicopter dipping operations.
