Summary: Yesterday, firefighters made progress establishing control lines along the southern and western perimeters of the fire. Forward progression has been stopped. Today crews will be working to secure containment lines and extinguish sources of heat within the fire perimeter. The priority is to reduce any threat to structures near the fire.

Percent Contained: 7%
Fire Behavior: Smoldering and creeping with single tree torching
Structures Threatened: Roughly 40 structures
Evacuations: A pre-evacuation notice is in place for the Big Horn Ranch area, evacuations are ordered for homes between Big Horn Ranch rd. and Becks rd.
Fuels and Terrain: The fire is burning through grass, sagebrush, oak, and maple in steep terrain
Fire Crews/Resources: 16 engines, two Hotshot crews, three dozers, one grader, one water-tender, one type-1 helicopter
Closures: Access to the Big Horn Ranch area is restricted to property owners only. In addition, the public is asked to avoid the entire fire area for public and firefighter safety.
