Fire Information:

Summary: The Sandy fire was reported at 3:34 p.m. July 24, 2020 approximately 3 miles west of exit 30 off Interstate 15. It is burning near the Dry Sandy Wash in brush and pinion juniper.

Fire Size/Containment: estimated 15 acres/0% contained

Location: Near Toquerville, Utah

Fire Behavior: Fire is actively burning in brush and timber

Cause: Lightning

Structures Threatened: no

Structures Destroyed: no

Closures: Browse Oak Grove Campground and Browse Guard Station Closed Due to Fire Danger –

Evacuations: None

Fuels/terrain: brush and timber

Fire Resources Assigned: 14 Smokejumpers, 2 Type 1 Hotshot crews, 2 Type 2 IA Crews, 2 SEATs, 2 LATS, Air Attack and lead plane, 2 Type 1 Helicopters,  1 Type 2 Helicopter, 1 Type 3 Helicopter
