Summary: The Strawberry Fire is now 100 percent contained. The trail through the fire area remains closed for safety considerations. Smoke may be visible for several days as heavy fuels located well within control lines continue to burn out.
Reported: Monday, July 20 at approximately 2pm.
Location: Bowers Flat, north of Highway 14 near the Mammoth Creek Road in Kane County.
Jurisdiction: Dixie National Forest.
Fire Size: 43 acres. (Note: one acre is equivalent to one football field)
Cause: Lightning.
Fire Behavior: Smoldering and creeping.
Closures: No closures are in effect.
Structures Threatened: No structures threatened.
Percent Contained: 100% Contained.
Fuels: Timber.
Evacuations: No evacuations are in effect.
Injuries: No injuries reported.
Fire Crews/Resources: 3 Fire Engines and 1 Squad. A total of 25 personnel are assigned.
