Veyo West Fire Facts

Summary: As of 4:30 p.m., the Veyo West Fire, estimated at 2900 acres and zero-percent contained, forced the evacuation of the west side of the Veyo, Utah, and burned one primary structure (home) and one outbuilding. Closures include secondary roads west of Highway 18, and north of Veyo. The fire is burning through dry brush and grass.

Fire Size/Containment: Estimated 2900 aces, 0% contained

Location: Near Veyo, Utah 

Fire Behavior: group torching

Cause: under investigation 

Structures Threatened: Yes 

Closures: secondary roads west of Highway 18, and north of Veyo.

Evacuations: west side of Veyo, Utah

Fuels/terrain: Grass and brush 

Fire Resources Assigned: 250 Wildland – 9 Type III/IIII engines, 6 Type VI Engines, 3 Bulldozers, 4 water tenders, multiple local fire departments, 3 Type I Crews, 4 Type II crews, multiple air tankers and 4 helicopters.
