Start Date: June 25, 2020
Location and Jurisdiction: South of the Sevier Playa in Millard and Beaver Counties, Utah. Jurisdiction is Bureau of Land Management, State of Utah, and private land.
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: The total acreage for Rock Path Fire combined with the Antelope Fire has held at approximately 20,941 acres.
Current Operations: The Color Country Type 3 Incident Management Team will transition to a local Type 4 Incident Command (IC) effective July 1, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. The remaining crews will continue to conduct mop-up operations, which includes extinguishing or removing burning material near control lines, felling snags, and trenching logs to prevent rolling after an area has burned in order to make a recent fire zone safe or to reduce residual smoke. The Type 4 IC will begin to conduct rehab work to help the land recover from the effects of fire.
Percent Contained: 100%
Fire Behavior: Minimal fire activity on the interior of the burned area
Structures Threatened: No values at risk at this time.
Fuels and Terrain: The fire was burning through grass, sagebrush, and juniper.
Fire Crews/Resources: A total of 65 personnel will remain on the fire after the Type 3 team leaves. Crews and resources include: 2 Type II hand crews, 1 Type II helicopter, 1 Type 6 engine and a 10-person wildland fire Module.
