Summary : Knolls fire resources worked to secure containment lines and extinguish sources of heat within and around the fire perimeter. Resources benefited from cooler weather, allowing them to reach 75% containment.

Start Date: June 28, 2020

Location and Jurisdiction:  south of Saratoga Springs, west of Utah lake

Cause: Human caused, under investigation

Fire Size: 12,977

Complexity: Type 3 Incident Command

Percent Contained:  75%

Fire Behavior: Smoldering, creeping

Structures Threatened:  Residences, outbuilding, structures, and critical infrastructure

Fuels and Terrain:  The fire is burning through grass and brush on steep terrain.

Fire Crews/Resources: 13 engines, 1 watertender, 4 (20 person) crews, and 3 helicopters.  Total of 235 personnel

Evacuations and Closures:  Evacuations have been lifted. Residents may return to their homes. Hwy 68/Redwood Road is now open.  BLM-managed lands in and around the fire perimeter are closed to access until further notice.
