New Start: Wire Pass Fire 6/27/2020

Summary: Despite the high winds today, the Wire Pass Fire had no growth. Air and ground crews used a combination of handline, dozer and air resources, and natural terrain features to help keep the fire in check.
Tomorrow’s operations will include the addition of three hand crews to help monitor and catch any hot spots, should any occur.
Tomorrow’s weather is forecasted to be less windy with higher relative humidity, which should benefit firefighters as operations continue.
Currently, the Wire Pass Fire is estimated to be approximately 1,580 acres and is located near the Wire Pass Trailhead off House Rock Valley Road, which is located approximately 47 miles east of Kanab, Utah via Highway 89.
