Location and Jurisdiction: South of the Sevier Playa in Millard and Beaver Counties, Utah. Jurisdiction is Bureau of Land Management, State of Utah, and private land.
Cause: Lightning
Fire Size: Antelope Fire is approximately 3,000 acres. The Rock Path Fire is approximately 6,000 acres. Crews are conducting a burn-out operation today to combine the two fires into one fire, the Rock Path Fire.
Percent Contained: Unknown
Fire Behavior: Wind-driven. Running through grasses with short spotting.
Structures Threatened: No values at risk at this time.
Fuels and Terrain: The fires are burning through grass, sagebrush, and juniper.
Fire Crews/Resources: Antelope Fire has a total of 109 personnel. Crews and resources include: 3 hand crews, 2 dozers, 4 water tenders, 4 engines.
Rock Path has a total of 162 personnel. Crews and resources include: 4 hand crews, Air Attack, Lead Plane, 2 helicopters, 6 SEATS, 3 LATS, 1 dozer, 5 engines, and 2 water tenders.
The Meadow and Kanosh Volunteer Departments are supporting both fires with 2 water tenders, 2 graders, and 1 engine.
