South Monroe Prescribed Fire Update 11/8/2019

Fishlake National Forest – Richfield Ranger District reports helitorch ignitions on Langdon Mountain successfully burned an additional 1,200 acres on the South Monroe Prescribed Fire Project yesterday.  Fire continues to move around unaided on Table Mountain and in the Bean Hill area.  Yesterday’s smoke column was visual from Nevada, Colorado, and throughout Utah.  
Today, crews plan to clean up edges using helitorch and hand ignition methods on Langdon Mountain as well as Bean Hill and Big Table. Additional ignitions will resume on Sunday, November 10 in Straight Canyon. 
To date, the South Monroe Prescribed Fire Project has burned approximately 2,300 acres.
