Meadow Creek Fire Update Sept 9

The lightning-caused Meadow Creek Fire, located approximately 2 miles East of Meadow Utah, was discovered on 9/8/2019. The fire is 4,154 acres and is actively burning in mixed conifer with the majority of fire activity being in the Meadow Creek drainage. This fire is a full suppression fire. Fire crews are working today securing the west and north/west perimeter of the fire. There is a red flag warning over the area today until 9 pm tonight due to predicted erratic winds.

Glen Chappell’s Central Utah type 3 Incident Management is currently assigned to the fire. They will be transitioning to a type 2 Incident Management team tomorrow morning

ClosuresA temporary area closure for the Meadow Creek Fire has been issued and is in effect as of September 9,2019. The closure order will remain in effect until October 1, 2019 or until rescinded. This order is issued for protection of public health and safety.
The closure order is from Sand Rock Ridge road south to Meadow Creek. This would include:

Trail 032
Forest Road 386 (Sand Rock Ridge Road)
Trail 322
Forest Road 383
Forest Road 501
Forest Road 852
